Steve AtkinsonSteve Atkinson 

A news anchor, sports reporter, television host, emcee, and public speaker, these are just a few of the qualifications that brought Steve Atkinson to Media Image Partners.  Steve is currently the Co-Anchor of “10News Live at 7” at KGTV, the ABC affiliate in San Diego, California. He is also a Special Assignment and Investigative reporter for 10News at 11. Steve arrived in San Diego in May of 2006 with 17 years of experience in local television. Prior to that Steve began his career in Arkansas, in 1989. However, he returned home to the state of Texas with stops at KVUE-TV in Austin and WFAA-TV in Dallas. He has won multiple awards from both the Arkansas and Texas Associated Press for Best Sportscaster and Sports Reporter. Before arriving in San Diego, Steve spent four years in Denver, where he collected an Edward R. Murrow Award for his reporting and a Regional Emmy Award as a television host. Steve has hosted numerous live television shows at Super Bowls, NBA All-Star Games, Major League Baseball Playoff Games, and Stanley Cup Finals. Steve has interviewed everyone from President Bill Clinton, to Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Johnson, Billionaire Mark Cuban, Quarterback Troy Aikman and many more.  What Steve brings most to Media Image Partners is his experience with live television. His wish is to help you succeed in building your image.

Wendy Urushima-SimmonsWendy Urushima-Simmons 

Wendy Urushima-Simmons has more than twenty years of experience in media, marketing, film, television and theatre. Currently she’s the Associate Executive Director of Development for the Center for Community Solutions. She worked for more than a decade as the Community and Media Marketing Manager at KGTV in San Diego where she was directly involved with the marketing, branding, pubic relations and community affairs for the station. In addition to her community affairs and marketing responsibilities behind the scenes, she is also comfortable in front of the camera, and has appeared in various station public service announcements and promotional spots. She has emceed hundreds of community dinners and is a frequently requested speaker, guest lecturer and panelist in the region. She has also worked as a weather and traffic reporter for Airwatch Traffic. In addition, Wendy has worked as an actor and model, and has appeared in local and national commercials, industrial videos, television shows, and various print ads as seen in USA Today, the LA Times and the Wall Street Journal. She has also won numerous awards including: Volunteer of the Year, North County Philanthropy Council, the MVP Award from the McGraw-Hill Companies, Member of  the Year, Asian Business Association, Eleven Extraordinary Women Award, National Women’s Caucus, Forty under 40 Award, San Diego Metropolitan Magazine, and serves as a board member and volunteer for numerous San Diego agencies.

 

Amy RolandAmy Roland 

Amy has over 16 years experience as a producer in television and film. Before moving back to San Diego from Los Angles, Amy worked in the development department at HBO Films. She has cast numerous commercials, industrials, and independent film shorts and served as a casting associate working with top theatrical casting directors. Among others, she has worked for Rick Pagano, Sharon Bialy, and Meg Lieberman.  Amy enjoys professional relationships with top agents, casting directors, and producers in Los Angeles.  Recently she cast and co-produced a show to air on the REELZ Channel. Currently she is producing DVD content for Magnolia Pictures and enjoys working in the independent film arena.  Also, she and her husband William, through their company Media Speedway, are developing ProjectBaby.com; a next-generation media site dedicated to helping women during the exciting and sometimes scary point in a woman’s life when trying to conceive.  Amy received her BA in Theatre with an emphasis in acting from UCSD.  There she worked at the La Jolla Playhouse with award winning director Des McAnuff.  She has studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in Los Angeles.  Amy received her MFA in producing from the prestigious American Film Institute where she was the recipient of the American Express Scholarship Award sponsored by Academy Award-nominated actress Helena Bonham Carter.  She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the CCDA.

 

Billy RolandWilliam Roland 

With more than 18 years of media experience in film, video, and television, William is now focusing on developing creative media projects that address the needs of highly targeted niche markets.  His varied skills and experience include; project development and project management from concept through completion, marketing and promotion, media buying, local advertising, local news media marketing, writing, producing, directing, photography, graphic design, editing, duplication and distribution.  As a former director of photography his media production experience includes; feature films, commercials, live and live-to-tape television, music videos, military video, medical video, industrial and corporate video.  He worked for Carsey/Werner Productions on multiple nationally televised primetime sit-coms under the guidance of Nick McLean Sr. (former DP of Friends.)  As an editor William is and expert in many forms of media from analog to digital and strives to create new and unique visual presentations.  Currently he is the News Marketing Manger for ABC affiliate station KGTV in San Diego and is developing ProjectBaby.com with his wife Amy.  William graduated with honors from the Brooks Institute of Photography where he won the Kodak Award for Cinematography.
